Industry 4.0 is not some peculiar catchphrase nor it is a marketing gimmick. What is Industry 4.0? Industry 4.0 is the current trend of manufacturing technologies which involved with the automation of machine and the quickest data exchange. Industry 4.0 represents the fourth revolution that has occurred in manufacturing;

From the industry 1.0 in 17th century where unskilled workers use machines powered by a water wheel or steam engine; Afterward the second industry on which take place in the 19th century where factories began to use electricity and start the first mass production systems; Finally, the third industrial revolution in the 19th – 20th century, the era of computerization and automation.

Why Industry 4.0? What happened to Industry 2.0 and 3.0?

Industry 4.0 is not a new technology, nor is it a business discipline, but in fact a new approach to achieve results that weren't possible 10 years ago thanks to advancements in technology. The fourth, then, is the move towards digitalization. This includes using large-scale M2M and Internet of Things (IoT) deployments to help manufacturers and consumers alike provide increased automation, improved communication and monitoring, along with self-diagnosis and new levels of analysis to provide a truly productive future.
